If you read my post earlier, you would know that I just got to Christmas decorating yesterday.  However, I have been planning for awhile now what I wanted the decorations to look like this year.  I like to go with a different color scheme every year.  Last year I went with red and gold, and the year before it was all blue, silver and white.



 This year I knew I wanted to use a lot of gold and bronze with shades of brown, white, cream, and silver.  I also wanted to incorporate leopard print somehow.



 My mom went shopping with me at Michael's to get some new Christmas supplies.  She looked at me like I was crazy when I picked out this leopard print ribbon and told her it was for the tree.  She ended up really liking it with the other tree decorations though.  I love those reindeer ornaments, and might have to go buy some more.


Once the tree was decorated, I realized I could decorate above the curtains using a similar ribbon as on the tree.  I also hung a string of lights and added small white ornaments. 




 This small coffee table is right in front of the tree.  I found these candle stick pillars on sale, but they were in rough shape.  A little gold spray paint really spruced them up.  I used a plain Christmas wreath around the pillars and added gold ribbon and pine cones.



My little guy and I collected those pine cones about 2 weeks ago while on a walk. After baking them at 250 degrees for 45 minutes to get rid of any critters, I also used them on the wreath on the dining room table.



 This is the same hurricane as in my DIY Williams-Sonoma Hurricane post.  I replaced the leaves for pecans that came a friend's back yard/pecan orchard.


As you can see, I went with a hunter green table cloth and bronze colored runner.  I love using these gold chargers and gold rimmed china pretty much every chance I get.  


I have 2 of these square glass candle holders on small square mirrors on the table.  Inside are coffee beans and vanilla scented candles, which smell amazing when lit.   I decided not to put anything else on the table (at least not yet) since I liked the simple way the table looked.


 Our formal living room and dinning room are connected, so I wanted the colors to go well together.  I love finally having some decorating done, and it has been so pleasant sitting in there the past 2 days.  We've just started decorating the kitchen and guest bathroom with lots of red and silver.  Stay tuned to see how that turns out.
