Welcome to day 9 of the 12 Days of Christmas!  Today the other bloggers and I are sharing fun Christmas activities for kids.  I'm showing you this fun and easy way for the kids to decorate Christmas cookies at your holiday party.

First, bake up your favorite sugar cookie recipe.  Then flood your cookies with white royal icing and make sure to give them enough to time to thoroughly dry.  I usually leave mine overnight before handling them.  You are creating little blank canvases with these sugar cookies.   When it's time for kids activity to begin at your party (or anytime you want a festive way to entertaining the kids) simply put the cookies out on plates with a nice glass of milk and set out some edible markers. Yup! I said edible markers.

Did you know edible markers are a thing?   Well they are, and they're perfect for little kids to use to decorate Christmas cookies.  I love cookie decorating as a fun and tasty activity for kids at any party.  But frosting can get a little messy sometimes.  Plus, I love the precision of edible markers - I use them all of the time! You can find edible markers on Amazon here. Your kids can have endless fun with these and so can you.

  1. These are genius! I love the cleanliness of royal icing and edible markers. It seems like they set kids up for success instead of messy piping bags. This is such a great way to celebrate the holidays.
