Ever since I was planning my wedding, I have been in love with burlap. Now that the wedding is over, I can start using burlap in some of my holiday decorating. Below is a super easy way to make a beautiful Fall burlap wreath.
I started my wreath by first making the bow I wanted to go on it. I chose a rich chocolate brown, velvet ribbon that I found on sale at JoAnn's. Making bows is a very recent thing for me and I find it helpful to use a bow maker.
Next, I made the actual wreath. I chose a wire wreath form and used a 10 yard roll of burlap.
I first gathered the end of the burlap and secured it to the wreath form using ribbon wire.
Next, I tucked a small amount of the burlap through a section of the wreath form. I pulled on the burlap to make a small loop and fluffed it out.
I then pinched the end of that loop before repeating the pull and fluff action in the section of the wreath form right next to loop I had just made.
I repeated the pinch, pull, fluff routine around the entire wreath form, making sure that each section looked nice and full.
Then, I added my bow also using the ribbon wire.
Finally, I added a little fall floral decoration securing it also with ribbon wire.
I love how the wreath turned out. Now, I just need to make some in time for Christmas!
