Christmas vacation has officially started!  That means that the kids and I will be baking up a storm and making a lot of handmade gifts over the next few days.  We'll also be doing a lot of snuggling up to watch family Christmas movies which can be streamed on sites such as https://123gofmovies.com/.  We decided to start off our fun with some Christmas decorating.

I set up my Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and decorated my entire dining room to match.

I love it in the dining room, but we spend most of our time in our living room.  I definitely wanted it to be Christmassy in there too, especially since that's where we'll be watching Christmas movies. So I set up another tree with a completely different color scheme.

And I wanted a wreath and garland over the fireplace to match.

I love using my glass jars to display extra ornaments.

So, the first movie up for our Christmas Family Movie night was ELF.  It's my favorite Christmas movie ever!  I love how Buddy is able to decorate for Christmas using just paper.  I wanted to do something similar, so I made a bunch of rosettes in the same colors as the ornaments on my tree.

Rosettes are pretty easy to make anyway, but with my Cricut Explore One™ I can get a little fancy with the edges.

Here's a video tutorial for you on how I made these Christmas rosettes.

Easy peasy, right?

My Christmas rosettes are not quite like all of Buddy's decor, but I love them!  Before we were ready for lots of Christmas family movie nights, we needed some tasty treats.  I really wanted our first movie night to be special, so I' picked out a few goodies from Shari's Berries.  The boys loved the marshmallow pops.

I'm more of a truffles girl.

We had so much fun watching ELF and being in the holiday spirit with all of the decorations.

I also put another "tree" on the wall behind the sofa.

I just love these rosettes though.  I'm going to make some more to go in my entry way.

Well, that's two full rooms decorated for Christmas at our house.  I also have other little touches of Christmas around that house, like bows on our bedroom doors.  I love having all of the colors and the lights up.  Family movie nights have been super enjoyable this year.

What are your family holiday traditions?
