I mean, I guess you could call this fruit salad, except that there is no dressing. It's really just a bunch of fruit thrown together. So, it would probably be more appropriate to call this a fruit bowl. Regardless, it makes one delicious breakfast.
The other morning my hubby said he did not have his usual request of eggs for breakfast. He wanted something healthier. I had just picked up a whole bunch of fruit the day before with the intention of making frozen smoothie packs. I figured I was going to be cutting up all of this fruit anyway, so we should enjoy some of it in it's freshness.
I cut up watermelon, honeydew melon, mangoes, strawberries, cherries, and also tossed in blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. We lucked out because everything was perfectly ripe and sweet.
One of the side effects of this breakfast was that we continued to eat really healthy for the rest of the day. I felt great, and it was delicious. Fruit salad, aka, fruit bowls are definitely going in our breakfast rotation!
