I love a good Bloody Mary.  It might be my favorite vodka cocktail.  If you are going to be mixing up this classic drink, make sure you choose a good vodka.  My favorite is Smirnoff.

I made this Bloody Mary recipe in a pitcher since it is a Halloween cocktail for a crowd.  I used classic ingredients - tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, lime juice, horseradish, Worcestershire, pepper, celery salt, and hot sauce.  I also added olive brine and pickle juice.  I love my bloody Mary to be really tart but not too spicy.

How To Fill Blood Bags With Drinks

This particular kind of novelty blood bag has a screw off lid.  I was a little worried at first about how I was going to be able to fill them.  But a measuring cup with a spout and a steady hand is all you need.  I recommend filling them over your pitcher just in case you spill. If that sounds too intimidating, use a small funnel instead.  However, if you grabbed the kind of Halloween drink blood bags that looks like an actual IV bag, you can fill those with a syringe.

Another fun way to serve a blood drink for Halloween is a syringe cocktail.  This Poisoned Apple Witch's Brew with Blood Orange Syrup is great for guests who prefer something sweet instead of a Bloody Mary.

Alcohol not your thing?  Or maybe you need to come up with some fun Halloween drinks for the kids.  Bri over at Parties with a Cause is sharing this non-alcoholic Red Sangria for Day of the Dead that's also a perfect blood drink for your Halloween party.
