It's a wonderful feeling when you realize you can make your favorite products at home.  I had insomnia one night and was browsing facebook on my phone, when I came across something amazing.  One of my friends had posted how to make your own Fabreeze fabric refresher.  It looked so easy that I got up out of bed and made some.

The homemade fabric refresher was amazing!  It took me all of 15 seconds to make it.  I ran around my house in the dark (so I wouldn't wake anyone else up) spraying anything that was covered in fabric.  Unfortunately, I can not give credit to who came up with this recipe, since it was a year ago that I saw it on my friend's facebook page and it's so easy to remember.

Homemade Fabric Refresher:

1/8 cup Fabric Softener (pick a scent you really love)
2 Tbsp. Baking Soda
warm water

Add fabric softener and baking soda to a spray bottle.  Fill the rest of the bottle with warm water and give a gentle shake.

That's it.  There is no way to mess up making this fabric refresher.  The above bottle of Downy (yes it is in Spanish, I live right on the US/Mexico border) was on sale and I had a coupon, so I actually made money to go towards my other groceries that day.  But even at full price, the ingredients for homemade fabric refresher can't be more than 15 cents a bottle.  Can't beat that!

And it works really well.  Make sure to pick a fabric softener that has a scent that you like.  I have not tried to make an unscented one, so I'm not sure how that would work.   The contents do tend to separate though, so make sure to give it a shake every time you want to use it.

Gosh, I love this stuff.  And who doesn't like saving money?
