Until a week and a half ago, I had never tasted a fresh fig.  I think that I have seen figs in  grocery stores maybe 3 times in the past 10 years. Even if I wanted to try a fig, they just were not available. Thanks to bountiful baskets, I had the opportunity to purchase a large case of fresh black figs last Saturday.  I. Love. Them.  I have been stuffing my face with figs since and trying to come up with different ways for my family to enjoy them.  Enter this honey fig milkshake.

Although the figs are wonderful all by themselves, I was surprised by how tasty this honey fig milkshake was.  If you like figs and enjoy a good milkshake, you'll love this combination.

Honey Fig Milkshakes (1 serving)

1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/3 cup milk
2 figs (quartered)
1 teaspoon honey

1.  Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
2.  Pour into serving glass and top with whipped cream.

  1. Yum! Other than Fig Newtons, I've never had a fig before either! Pinning to the links board, and thanks for sharing at Fridays Unfolded!

  2. My husband grows figs in the yard and I really don't like them. I'm not really a big fan of honey either. But you can never tell what will taste good in a milkshake – might have to try it! 🙂
