It's my birthday! My little guy was so cute this morning because he wanted to make sure that we would be having cake later today. Of course we will, but I'm still trying to decide what else to indulge in today. Whatever the main course ends up being, I definitely want some more of this lemon parmesan asparagus recipe.
How to Cook Asparagus
There are many different ways to cook asparagus, but my favorite is to saute in a pan. This lemon parmesan asparagus comes together really quickly - like 5 minutes quickly.
I like my asparagus to keep a tiny bit of it's crunch, so I only saute mine for about 5 minutes along with some butter, and a squeeze of lemon.
Then it's off to the serving dish to be topped with some shaved parmesan.
This is one of the quickest, easiest, and tastiest side dishes there is. Sometimes you just need a reminder that really good food doesn't need to take a whole lot of time and effort.
Well, I still haven't figured out what the main course will be for my birthday dinner tonight. Maybe lobster .... and some champagne 🙂 33 should be a pretty good year!
- 1 lb. fresh asparagus
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 lemon
- Parmesan to taste
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add the butter.
- Saute the asparagus for roughly 5 minutes - add juice from the lemon at any time during sauteing.
- Remove the asparagus from the pan and transfer to a serving dish.
- Top with desired amount of shaved Parmesan cheese.
