Ah... motherhood.  Is there any better reason to celebrate?  To moms and those who have moms, this party is for you.

I'll be honest with you - sometimes I can get pretty darn moody.  So, when I was pregnant with my first little boy, I was trying to prepare myself for potentially dealing with the baby blues.  But I ended up having a the complete opposite reaction.  It was like I was in total euphoria  bringing home my brand new baby.  I've never been happier in my entire life as I was the first week of becoming a mom.  In fact, I didn't know was possible to be anywhere near that kind of happy.  Since then I've been blessed with a second little boy, and again got to experience the feeling of overwhelming happiness!  My little guys are now seven and three and quite the handful.  Of course there are ups and downs in any relationship, with parenting being no exception.  My little boys know how to drive me crazy - I get frustrated, upset, have my feelings hurt, and go unappreciated plenty of times.  But they also know how to make me laugh, act silly, feel proud, and shower me with love.  I wouldn't trade them or this experience for anything!

I've always had a very close relationship with my mom, but becoming a mom myself made that bond even stronger.  It was like all of a sudden I understood everything my mom was ever talking about - how much she loves me, how she worries, how she wants the best for me.... Did you feel different about your parents when you became a parent yourself?  It's like a blindfold coming off.

So, as both a mother and a daughter, Mother's Day is one of those occasions I want to be extra special.  This Mother's Day I'm inviting my mom along with some other wonderful ladies, to join us at my house for a Mother's Day brunch full of deliciousness and a pretty setting.

You'll notice that I don't have pictures of the actual brunch foods served, only the dessert table, but I have yummy menu suggestions listed below.  By the way,  aren't the cake pops ah-mazing?  My new friend, Marissa from Me Cupcake, made them and I couldn't be happier.  Her desserts are always beautiful though - check out her work over on Instagram.

Mother's Day Brunch Menu

  • Waffles
  • Bacon
  • Scrambled Eggs
  • Toast served with Butter and Jam
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Danishes
  • Donuts
  • Cake Pops
  • Orange Juice
  • Coffee
  • Tea

Mmmmm, donuts!

All of us, besides my mom (poor thing is allergic!) drink so much coffee we could keep Starbuck's in business by ourselves.  I break out my large coffee urn for occasions like this.

I decided to keep the china teacups and saucers over by the coffee urn instead of on the table since we usually wait until dessert to drink our coffee.

Even though I LOOOOOVE fresh flowers, I've become a little obsessed with making paper roses with my Cricut Maker.  We hosted a wedding after-party at our house a couple of weeks ago and I made a ton of paper roses.  Guests kept touching them because so many people thought they real at first glance (I'm sure that had a lot to do with the fact that the party was at night though LOL.)  The roses that I made are the easiest paper flowers you'll ever make and I'll have a tutorial on them coming up next.

I also used the same roses to make a small backdrop for the table and to place into these rose gold birdcages.

Another paper project I made with my Cricut Maker were these butterfly favor boxes.  I love making favor boxes like these because they only take one cut, use glue on just one tab, and are so easy to put together.  Plus they're adorable!

Even though this setup is perfect for Mother's Day, there's nothing that limits it Mother's Day.  You could easily use this exact setup for a bridal or baby shower, a birthday party (can't you see these colors being perfect for unicorns or mermaids), or any Spring or Summer event you have coming up.  I love using mint, lilac, light pink and cream as a color scheme anytime of the year especially when paired with pops of gold and rosegold.

I mentioned earlier that I threw a wedding celebration party last month.   It was after the event that I discovered linentablecloths.com - talk about one of those times you wish you had a time machine!  They have crazy affordable linens that are really great quality.  I ordered my mint tablecloths, the pink napkins, and the cream chair sashes that you see in this setup.  I also ordered a 90x156 brown table cloth, a chair cover, a sample pack of all 5 of their chair covers, and sample cards of every single fabric they have linens in.   Usually I can't stand paying for shipping, but the 2-5 business day shipping really wasn't that bad.  All together including the shipping cost, my order total came to $35.00!  I'm hooked and will definitely be a repeat customer.

As for chiavari chairs, I rented them from Ton of Linens here in El Paso.  I'm a sucker for clear lucite, but white, gold, or natural wood chairs would look pretty too.

If you also happen to be located in El Paso, make sure to check out both Ton of Linens and Me Cupcake.  You're sure to have beautiful party setup with the help of these 2 fantastic vendors!

And if you're not in El Paso, but like to recreate this party here's what you'll need:

  1. I love this! It’s my sister’s first mother’s day so I think it would be pretty fun for the two of us and our mom to have a nice brunch like this. Of course, we don’t live anywhere near the rest of our family, so we’ll have to make sure we don’t buy as many donuts. Lol.

  2. These table set ups are so pretty! I handle events for clients all of the time and this definitely helps provide some inspiration. The bright colors are so festive. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I think every year for the past 26 years, I have been taken to a fancy brunch for Mother’s Day. I have never been to one that was as intimate and beautiful as the one you have photographed!

  4. I love every single one of your ideas. Reading this article was not only in lightning, but the pictures are very stunning and give me a lot of ideas. Please keep up the good work 🙂

  6. Happy Mother’s Day! Your tablescape is absolutely gorgeous! My sister recently bought a cricut machine. I can’t get over the roses you were able to make with the machine. How cool!

And I would like cake pop. Okay…I’d like to eat six of them with a bunch of coffee. 🙂

  7. What a spectacular brunch decor and menu. I love the color combinations and those chairs and bird cages. Everything is stunning. Great job. I’m wishing we were neighbors.
