Do you love being thoughtful about every aspect of your gift giving, including presentation? This holiday season is a great time to make some personalized reusable gift bags with your Cricut Maker!

I love the idea of making personalized reusable gift bags.  Our recycling bin won't be so full on Christmas morning, and the kids will have a cute way to keep their new toys organized.

It is super easy to personalize gifts with Cricut, and personalized gifts just seem to have extra meaning.

I have 3 little boys and they each have distinct interests.  My middle son, Dylan is OBSESSED with dinosaurs.  In fact, I have a whole second blog devoted just to dinosaur crafts and activities for kids called 65 Million Years because of him.

How to Personalize Gifts with Cricut

To personalize Dylan's gift bag, finding a dinosaur in Cricut Design Space was really easy.  There are so many cute options!  I chose one, added his name, and then used Everyday Iron-on to make the project with my Cricut Maker.

When using Iron-on, make sure to mirror your design before you begin cutting, and be sure to place the material with the shiny side down on the mat.  Once your design is cut out, use a weeding tool to remove the extra Iron-on.  If you have an intricate design, a Cricut BrightPad will come in handy.

Then use the Cricut EasyPress 2 to add the iron-on to the gift bag.   I still can't tell exactly what material this particular drawstring bag is made out of.  It's definitely synthetic, and my closest guess is maybe polyester.  If you happen to know what the material is for your project, use the Cricut Heat Guide to get the right setting for your project.

Lastly make a gift tag.  The gift bags already have my kids' names on them, so I just wanted a tag that said "Merry Christmas" which you can find in Cricut Design Space here.  I used a red glitter gel tip pen to add the message.  And since this is for a child's Christmas gift, using the new Cricut Maker Wavy Blade adds a touch of whimsy.

Aren't those edges cute with the wave? The Wavy Blade is just one of the new Cricut Maker Tools and makes this machine so versatile!

Attach the gift tag to the gift bag and you're all set!

This project was fast and fun.  Next, I'll work on my oldest son Christian's bag.  After a trip to the La Brea tar pits,  Christian has a new interest in woolly mammoths, so that will be his theme.  My baby James will have an adorable teddy bear on his bag. Stay tuned for pictures of those.  Coming soon!
