A Peter Rabbit Party

Hip hop hooray! It's Peter Rabbit party day!  I'm so excited to finally share with you all of the details of our Peter Rabbit Party.

My little boys have been looking forward to the Peter Rabbit movie for months!  I grew up loving the stories from Beatrix Potter, so I was pretty excited for the movie too.  We went a few days ago, and it was darling.  I wanted our party to feel like the classic stories mixed in with the modern movie.

Cost Plus World Market has a ton of fun Peter Rabbit party items right now.  I picked up several Peter Rabbit themed products along with other party essentials from my local El Paso store to get this party hopping.  To find a Cost Plus World Market near you, you can use their store locator here.

This was a small family party that I set up in our backyard.  Here you can see what the space looked like just as I was starting to set up.

I started by setting up the buffet table.   We had a yummy lunch followed by a few desserts.  Cost Plus World Market has these beautiful galvanized metal cake stands in 3 different sizes.  I ended up using 5 of them for the buffet table to keep everything cohesive.  Plus, there's something about them the reminds me of gardening tools.

I loved using these Beatrix Potter books as decor.  Not only were they adorable, but they make a great keepsake after the party.  My youngest little boy has already gotten a lot of enjoyment out of me reading them to him.

Our main course was sandwiches on delicious pretzel rolls.

Every Peter Rabbit party has to have a variety of veggies.  I carved out the center of a red cabbage to create a bowl for a creamy dip to go along with cucumber spears, tomatoes, broccoli, asparagus, and mini bell peppers.

We also had Peter Rabbit pasta salad.  Cost Plus World Market has adorable Peter Rabbit shaped pasta.  You can find the recipe for this yummy pasta salad here.

For dessert we had some chocolate pudding dirt shooters topped with mint leaves.

I made carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and used the Meri Meri Peter Rabbit cupcake baking kit from Cost Plus World Market to decorate them.

The main cake was also carrot cake and frosted with cream cheese frosting.  I love the way naked cakes look and topped this one with roses, blueberries and blackberries.

To add more Peter Rabbit fun to the buffet table, I included figurines of Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

I also made a Peter Rabbit party banner.  Find the tutorial here.

Over on the main table were more Peter Rabbit goodies from Cost Plus World Market, including more Peter Rabbit figures.

Each place setting had a Peter Rabbit plate, Peter Rabbit juice tumbler, orange napkin, green utensils and a Peter Rabbit Easter Cracker.

I used a greenery garland down the center of the table and placed the vegetable floral centerpiece that I made in the middle.  Find the tutorial on how to make this centerpiece here.

Time to chow down!

We had a great time at our Peter Rabbit party.

  1. I have to tell you, I saw your Instagram photo with the vegetable centerpiece, and I’ve been mildly obsessed with it since then. Looks like the rest of the party was awesome too!
