Welcome to day one of the 12 days of Christmas!!!!  Bri from Parties With A Cause, Sarina from Joy in the Commonplace, Jennifer from Bella Grey Designs, and I have all teamed up to bring you lots of fun Christmas ideas to get you ready for your holiday entertaining.  Today it's all about DIY Christmas ornaments.

To kick things off, I'm sharing with you how I made this rustic deer head diy Christmas ornament with my Cricut Maker.

I've also got a pretty awesome giveaway that you can find at the bottom of this post.

Rustic Deer Head DIY Christmas Ornament Supplies

Open the project in Cricut Design Space and prepare your machine and materials.

Place your basswood onto a StrongGrip mat and secure with tape.  Make sure not to have the wood too close to the side edges of the mat or it may jam your Cricut Maker.

Place the Knife Blade into clamp 'b' of your Cricut Maker and load the mat.   Fair warning - it's going to feel like FOREVER to cut these ornaments out.  I think it was 34 passes to cut all of the way through.  Fortunately, you can just walk away and do something else while this is going on.

Be really careful when you remove the ornaments from the mat.  They're delicate and could snap.

Cut a piece of faux fur to a size that will fit the ornament.

Use a hot glue gun to add the faux fur and a piece of baker's twine or ribbon to the back of the diy Christmas ornament.

Your Christmas ornament is ready!!!  If you care about how the back looks, you could cut and add an additional circle.
